I set up my temporary raised bed greenhouse on April 6th this year. A little earlier than normal. But it was a beautiful spring day and the weather forecast had a string of nice days ahead. I use the raised bed temporary greenhouse to keep my early spring plantings frost and freeze free. After all this is the Front Range. April and May freezes with snow and ice are common. And as expected, a early spring winter storm rolled through on Sunday the 12th and Monday the 13th. High winds, ice and snow. Final count on Monday evening was 6 inches of the white stuff!
The greenhouse held up like a champ! The low temperature on Monday morning was 14 degrees. The inside temperature of the greenhouse was 49 degrees. Of course the supplemental heaters were running. Keeping the raised bed frost and freeze free. It is always nice to see that the intended design works! Oh, and by the way, another snow storm is moving through today!
